GAS
Electric tends to be more energy efficient unless it’s propane. But there are some energy efficient ranges out there try sears, lowes, or home depot
Definitely gas.
This is a hard question to answer. All houses are different in insulation values, windows, doors, etc. The temperature outside through the year makes a huge difference also. Here in Kansas, heating with electricity is not a wise investment. Gas does a far better job of heating cost wise. My sis in law lives in Texas, and has a heat pump with electric furnace, and her bills aren’t real bad. In here area, the predominant heating source is heat pumps and electric furnaces. Hope this makes some sense!
I am a heating and cooling contractor and from my experience gas heating is allways the cheapest to operate. Unless a geothermal system is installed this system is 100% efficient and is definatly the cheapest to operate. The down side is the cost of installation of such a system. Not counting the Heatpump, I say the gas would be your best choise. The best combination would be a heatpump with gas as your back-up. All depends where you live
There is never an absolute answer to this because of the rising fuel costs. Electric strip heat is expensive. We’ve had a lot of customers getting rid of their gas furances, going to heat pumps with electric resistance heat back up.
